so on our computer my mom has no idea what the password is on our dell computer that has wifi connection and i got a new laptop and i need the security key or passphrase to get on the internet.
how can we find this out?
plus she forgot the name of the guy who set up our computer a long time ago so we cant call him and find out :/
has anyone had this trouble but found the solution please give help

Ok so my laptop is connected to the network but it just continues to say limited connectivity.

I have tried resetting the router. Reconnecting.

Everything i can think of.

The Protocols are set to auto detect.

I can connect to any other network just fine. It worked fine before but then i reset the router a few times which i think might be the problem but am still not sure. I have the right security key and everything. I am utterly stumped at what it could possibly be.
Windows Help doesn’t even help.

I think i covered all the necessary things that could contribute to the problem or the solution. I will be glad to give any other info that you made need to help figure this one out.
I have already tried repairing the connection.

IP Protocol is set to obtain automatically. Other laptops don’t have a problem connecting to this connection just mine. But i never changed anything to cause it not to.

I have the correct WEP key.
I put in the IP into the browser and it just loads a blank page.
I use FF as a browser, but on IE it says link is broken yet it is the correct IP.

I’m trying to make a network like this diagram:

because i’m using a switch, my packet sniffer program can’t work properly. I’m trying the solution given on EFFETECH Sniffer website FAQ: http://www.effetech.com/help/sniffer-faq.htm

but what kind of cable and router should i use and how to configure all these network devices?

I’m just a second year computer and electrical engeering student and i’m not an expert in Internet and Security so please help me on this.

Excuse my naivety. I’ve been trying to source an answer for my dilemma on the www. but no proper clarity has been provided.

In all, I have one laptop which I use constantly use and one PC which I use only sporadically, both of which are wirelessly connected to a BT Broadband connection through the standard BT Home Hub.

Recently I have filled the space available on my laptop hard-drive and rather than looking for a new c-drive/external hard drive I am looking to create a wireless network whereby I can store all the data I don’t really use on my PC but still view, edit or manipulate it through my laptop when necessary.

As I mentioned, I have scoured the internet and found no clear answers or explanations, so a simple-all-area-covering solution would be fantastic.

Hi….

I am connected to a network of 6 laptops with same hw configuration.
One system is connected to sify wireless broadband connection, and rest of the systems are accessing internet using CCProxy through that system( wireless ). Its working fine.

All the systems are in same workgroup.
In “view workgroup compouters” windows I am able to see all the computers. But when trying to access any one of them an error message says I dont have permission to access network….network path not found.

The ping command is not getting any reply from any of the system….. even from the system through which I am using internet.

One of systems is able to access my shared files….but I am not.

I have checked our IP address configurations. Firewall is off…and I have installed Norton internet security in my system.

Please give me any solution…

Norton firewall is on….but problem remains the same… even after I uninstalling it.

File and printer sharing option is also enabled on each of the systems…

In all the systems we have given full control to “Network”…

I have an intel pentium laptop that has windows vista. The security programme was norton 360 till the subscription ran out yesterday. The internet was working yesterday morning, and when I turned it on yesterday afternoon there is no connection to the internet. When I click the network icon in the toolbar it says unidentified network and underneath it says limited connectivity or local only. The internet is wireless and the make is netgear. It says the signal strength is excellent and 5/5. But there is still no connection to the internet. The wireless is shared by another computer which is windows xp and works fine. The internet has been fine for 11 months. We have tried unplugging everywire to the netgear wireless and it still doesnt work. As many solutions as possible needed. Also tried systems restore and cannot do factory restore as cannot back up files. Thanks.

i went and got windows updates and one of the updates was network conection update or something like that and i updated the rest of the required security updates and what not also the network one wasnt required i just added it on there ne way and this is microsofts site i went to automatic updates from my control panel on my cpu ne way there was an error when they were downloading it said update box wasnt responding ne way it didnt fully download so no i cant get to network connections or when i tried to go to conectivity or wireless connections from start i couldnt get to it wouldnt open its not a virus it just didnt fully download i have virus protector and spy ware and firewal it just didnt download all the way what should i do to get internet accsess i know you can go msconfig i havent tried that but i dont think it would open there either i wouldnt think any way do you have any idea how i could get internet connections back i have a felling it was because the update didnt fully update any other theries or solutions. thank you

i was on my puter and then a message popped up saying my security is at risk and needs to restart which it did but went to a black screen and froze it took me a while to figure out to go to safe mode but now i cant download anything my kaspersky wont work in safe mode so what do i do where do i go to delete these viruses and how do get past that black screen to be able to download a solution?

an entire company intranet.ABC software is breaking away 4rm d parent company global software plc 2 becom an independent company. ABC software will be moving 2 new premises & investing significantly in new computing infrastructure & hardware. their initial plans include d purchase of new workstations 4 50 employees, + additional servers and network infrastructure as required.
The Requirements from ABC company
the company will need a website
everyone will require access 2 email at his/her workstations
access 2 d world wide web is required at most workstations
require complete and verifiable security
need at least 10 workstations networked together in a completely secure way
it is important that the network is reliable and money is not a problem
Please could you tell me how 2 begin on how 2 design the network giving a high level description of d solution & how d solution meets the clients (ABC software) needs,d type of network and wat type of network diagram shud b used.
