Student Loan and Other Debt?

If you go to grad school and have some other debt such as credit card debt, would you be able to get a student loan to cover that debt? Sort of a debt consolidation, except your getting a student loan to cover credit card debt.

I am in total debt! I have a collection agency hounding me and I need to know what my best solutions are!!?

Im in debt between 5,000-7,000. (Don’t Judge me I made a mistake!) Now they are tripping me out and I am approved for a loan from school that I will be getting after the holidays but I am scared that I can’t wait. I have tried every avenue and they will not budge with me. I want to make a balance transfer but have closed my credit card accounts for now and I wanted to know if a debt consolidation loan or anything like that is actually helpful. Does anyone know of a place where I can get a quick loan or anything helpful for me to solve this problem??? Please help me! (And I can’t borrow money from any family or friends that is not an option for me) Oh and Ideally I would like to pay it off in the next few weeks before I get “Sued” apparently. Thanks!
I am actually currently in collections and I have been trying to get a monthly payment with them but they are telling me no and that I need to pay two payments of 3500 which is insane and I can’t do that right now. And in regards to the loan, I am approved for one but I am waiting to recieve the money which I will probably get after the holidays, and I am saying that the collection agency is telling me I might get sued by then by the main creditor.

Will debt consolidation lower my credit score?

I have about $7,000 in credit card debt that I’ve aquired during the past 4 years of college. Now I’m graduated, can’t find a decent job, and going back to grad school. I’m having trouble even paying the minimum, and was wondering if I consolidated my debt if this would hurt my credit score. Oh yeah and I owe $30,000 in student loans, but those have already been consolidated.

What’s the best way to get out of credit card debt?

And basically we don’t want to go to debt consolidation since it affects credit scores then and can affect the rates you get for car loans, etc. and we make a good income but just have almost nothing left in disposable income after paying all of the debts and medical school loans. Other than living on much less, claiming bankruptcy, or getting a second job and applying all of this extra money saved to credit cards is there some other thing we are not thinking of that other Americans do to get out from under so much debt?

Debt consolidation and student loans question?

I’m trying to repay my debt but I am having a very hard time. I have about 40k in debt including interest I’ve accumulated (over estimate, to be safe) most of which is 1 private and 1 federal student loan (probably 35k worth) and the rest are utility bills that are years past due. I’m in my twenties, not a home owner, and currently not a student. Most all of, if not all of, these debts have already gone to collections. I work a job with unsteady hours so I’m never sure how much my pay check will actually be for, this makes it very difficult to budget. Not to mention, I simply don’t make much money. I’ve been actively looking for a higher paying and steadier job but haven’t had luck, yet.

I was wondering if debt consolidation would be a good option for me. I’m wary because so many other people here on yahoo answers have said that they are scams that ruin your credit rating and leave you owing more than you originally did. Is this true? If so, are there other ways to consolidate your debt that are safer? I’m told bankruptcy isn’t an option for me because it will not cover student loans, the vast majority of my debt. Is this true? My biggest worry is my student loans, I feel confident that I could pay off my past due utility bills.

So my main question here is, what is the best option for an impoverished twenty something to pay off crippling student loan debt?

I really want to go back to school and finish my degree, but I don’t know how I could possible afford going back to school when I’m drowning in so much debt from past student loans.

A few concerns about Debt Consolidation?

I don’t have a lot of debt, but I am almost two years behind on a single credit card, have two other credit cards, medical bills, school loans, and currently my wife is pregnant and her medical bills are beginning to pile up. It is somewhere in the range of $7,000-$10,000, we want to get a loan for our first house, but I don’t have good credit and she has mediocre credit.

I was wondering if anyone knew of some good debt consolidation websites or counselors to help us out or anybody who knows really anything about debt consolidation at all.

Thank you.
If I declare bankruptcy now I can’t get any loans or credit for seven years and I live in an apartment and that will definitely hurt my chances of singing a new lease.

I also have car loans.

Who would I see for general financial and debt repayment advice?

I just graduated college and very soon I have to pay back my school loans. I want to look into consolidation, but I don’t know if it’s a good option and how to even consolidate. I want to know my options. I also want advice about future education investments as I’m going to further my education. Besides that, I just want general financial advice about how to manage my assets, being a recent college grad with a temporary job.

Who would I see about that? What’s their title? What do I look up in the yellowpages?
