I don’t have a lot of debt, but I am almost two years behind on a single credit card, have two other credit cards, medical bills, school loans, and currently my wife is pregnant and her medical bills are beginning to pile up. It is somewhere in the range of $7,000-$10,000, we want to get a loan for our first house, but I don’t have good credit and she has mediocre credit.
I was wondering if anyone knew of some good debt consolidation websites or counselors to help us out or anybody who knows really anything about debt consolidation at all.
Thank you.
If I declare bankruptcy now I can’t get any loans or credit for seven years and I live in an apartment and that will definitely hurt my chances of singing a new lease.
I also have car loans.

I’m going to buy a small business for 12k. I need advice.?
I know how to run the business because I have been working there for four years. I just don’t know anything about finances or what I need to do to get started. I will have a partner and we are splitting the costs 50/50. It’s a kiosk at a mall but it brings in a lot of money. Any tips or advice. We are going to pay the owner off in a period of 3 months 4k a month. The rent is 2,050 and we pay on commission. I want to do everything right and by the book. There is no franchise fee we buy wholesale from a distributer out of Richardson, Texas. The product is $3 a package and it sells for $20-$30. I have been doing this for 4 years and managing the one that I am about to purchase for exactly a year. Mall overage is 2% and insurance, phone, and credit card is about $400. On an average with me working by myself I make about $2,000 a week and from that I get 30%. So I make $600 a week with my commissions.

If someone had an above-average income.(about 4 times expenses) but still felt like it wasn’t enough – could it be just because they’re ignorant about what to do with the money?
What would you do if you had that much income and no debt ?
Would you start a business, buy a franchise, go back to school, or something else ? How would you turn that into something more so that you won’t always have to work ?
I already have 2 jobs. Also, how would helping others help the situation about wanting to have enough money not to have to work anymore ?

This question is from a member of my group, can some one please help me answer her question.
“Well hello hello I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a soon-to-be-business owner from brooklyn, who’s looking to buy and manager her own franchise. I’m 24 years old and I’m interested in getting advice on how to get ’seed $$’
. I have thought about many fundraisers but had no ideas on what kind of fundrarisers. I do work full-time and I would like to learn how to budget my check on a bi-weekly basis to save $$ to buy this franchise. I would like to purchase this franchise within a 6-12 month period.
I would like to get some opinions on s’. What do you guys think about them? Are they worth buying? I would also like to start my own designated driver service in the near future. Yes! my mind is on overload. So, with all that being said, can I get some input from other brilliant minds?”
Thanks

I’ve already checked into costs. Total start up costs (lease, construction, signage, equipment, uniforms, training, product, so on and so on) was anywhere between $250,000 (low) and nearly half-million (high).
How could we get money to start up a franchise? Where could we get grants or other assistance?
Any info you got can help.

All over this forum, people have been bashing UoPO. I’m not looking for that at all. I’m not looking for whether or not it will be a waste of my money and wont be taken seriously. Hear me out.
I work in a residential treatment facility for troubled kids. I work the academic shift, and I like it. Although there IS a career “ladder” I can climb there, I’d also like to work on my education not only to improve the OUTPUT ($) of my career, but to improve the input as well (educating myself about child psychology and human services related things would help, in my opinion). I know that UoPO has a human services program. I don’t have the time to commute to college, and I certainly don’t have the gas money, seeing as I drive 45-50 minutes to work from point A to point B, then I would have to drive back another 45-50 minutes from B to A, and then it’s another 15 minutes in the opposite direction of B to get to College. Anyway, doing everything online seems a lot easier for me. I have the experiences I need to pull it all together, which would be my job. I’m already IN the setting doing what I want to do, I’d just like to enrich my life further.
So having heard that, would you say that Phoenix Online would be a good choice for me? I know it’s not for everyone, and that people should go for the WHOLE college experience if they have the chance. But I’m thinking that in my case, going to online college may not be considered “taking the easy way out”. Any thoughts?
Also, if anyone has done UoPO, I would just like to know some general information about it. I’ve heard that online courses/colleges usually give students MORE work than a normal school, because they assume that most people will procrastinate and blow it off, because it’s “just an online course”, y’know?
