Can anyone please help me with a ‘rundll32.exe’ failure thing?
Since yesterday, I’ve been struggling with my computer. Every time I start up and log in there is just an empty desktop. This goes for all user-accounts. By starting up windows taskmanager (ctrl, alt, del) and running internet, I can get the start-button and the program-icons on the desktop back. But whenever I try to adapt something in for example security, network connections, hardware, software, anything in configurations, I get a notice called ‘rundll32.exe, with the code 0xc0000005. When signing in, I get the same code, but with the name userinit.exe. Furthermore I keep getting all kinds of virus-scanner popups, mostly from Antivirus2009.
I tried a system restore, but that failed, for some reason. Also, I found out some ‘non-active systemprocesses’ use 95 of the CPU. Does anyone know what is going on? Or does anyone have a solution? Thanks a lot.
Don’t know if it’s of any importance, but I have Windows XP.
