Does anybody know how to make a ladder out of newspaper?

I was just watching an episode of “The Andy Griffith Show” and a guest character, Malcom, made a ladder out of a newspaper for Opie. I have, and so has my dad, been trying to figure out how to do this, and we can’t find anything online. Any help?
